Anna Kingsley

Born and raised in the Bay Area, Anna Kingsley has designed and printed custom letterpress printed things ranging from simple announcements to book covers. Kingsley also binds a variety of sketchbooks because she believes firmly that anyone can draw and that practice should be a fun daily occurrence! Before starting her own business, she was a special education teacher for students experiencing significant physical and emotional challenges. She currently teaches origami to young children and book binding to both adults and children in her community.

Daniel Simms

Daniel Simms was born and raised in the Bay Area. He’s been working with and around children for the past ten years now. Right now, he is the Extended Day & Instructional Support Teacher at The Berkeley School. It brings him joy making kids laugh and seeing smiles on each child’s face. Making connections and building relationships with each kid is key. DOUGLAS MCNEELEY

Douglas McNeely, aka Slim Chance, graduated from New College of California with a double major in Arts for Social-Change and Anti-psychiatry and has been performing and teaching circus arts for 25 years. He has written at least a dozen shows and performed with many small independent troupes including: The Nomadic Festival, The End of the World Circus and The Cyclown Circus. He founded ClownSnotBombs in 2006 and has toured the country extensively by veggie-oil bus. Currently, Slim teaches circus arts after school and summer programs for youth across the East Bay area year round. He also performs his solo show the "Circus of Possibilities" for libraries and other events.

EIleen Plichta

Eileen Plichta is a California based artist who received her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Illustration from Kendall School of Design in Michigan. Prior to teaching, she was a textile designer for childrenswear for over 15 years. Now, she has taught after school art classes in local elementary schools for over 10 years. In addition to art and drawing, she teaches crafts, sewing and cooking. One of her favorite things to do is help children discover what inspires them and encourage them through their own creative exploration.

Jennifer Linderman

Jennifer Linderman is a self-taught artist living in Oakland, CA. She is in love with Origami, nature and art. Ten years ago, she started her own business of getting children addicted to paper folding in her "Origami Mami" After School Enrichment Program, and when she’s not playing with paper she is painting or drawing. For the past several years, she has taken an ongoing Botanic Illustration course and therein she discovered her deep passion of bringing together elements of botany and nature, namely animals and plants!

Joel Skavdahl

Originally from Washington, Joel Skavdahl is a visual artist using a wide rang of mediums including 2D illustration, screen printing, 16mm direct animation, analog photography and ceramics. Skavdahl received his B.A. in Studio Arts from The Evergreen State College. He has been published by alternative small press publications such as Neoglyphic Media, Cold Cube Press, and DDOOGG. He often goes by pseudonym SEAGULLINVASION (also the name of his solo music project) and has played in a variety of bands.

Judith SchoneBaum

Originally from Baltimore, Judith Schonebaum has embraced the artistic environment of the West Coast, where the light, color and rhythms of California have become strong influences. Schonebaum received her BA in Fine Arts from the University of Vermont, including an intensive folk art program at the Shelburne Museum. She is a painting/pastel/collage studio artist, lately focusing on functional/decorative art created from “past use" textiles, plastics and other recyclable materials, reinterpreting traditional handcrafts towards the goal of more conscious sustainability. In addition, she is pursuing her lifelong passions for music, dance and community service through the arts.

NICHOLE TALBOTT

Nichole Talbott is a practicing multimedia artist who has been working in fiber arts for the last three years. She is the founder of Asé Arts. A community arts space on Piedmont Avenue, providing classes for homeschool and after school, adult workshops and events. As an arts educator Nichole strives to provide a foundation for her students that will help them as they mature as artists and as individuals. Through process based learning Nichole implements three main principles of self-exploration, modeling and guiding. This approach creates a safe learning environment that inspires experimentation, risk taking, failure, peer collaboration and community building. As an arts advocate she believes in the healing powers of the arts and has seen first hand how it can transform lives.

PALESA NICOLINI

Palesa Nicolini is an Apparel Designer & Adjunct Professor with a background in pattern making, technical design and product development.  She received her BFA in Fashion Design at SAIC and has worked in Milan, NY, Chicago and now the SF Bay Area.  One of her side projects is MoreWithLess.studio where she resolves her guilt from the fashion industry and gives purpose to unwanted materials by creating useful products for everyday life.
